Champion Physical Therapy is locally owned and operated.  We are proud to serve residents of Wickenburg and surrounding communities including Congress, Yarnell, Peeples Valley, Aguila, Wenden, Salome, Morristown, and Wittmann, AZ.

Our team of therapists are certified in the most evidence-based and cutting-edge treatments.  These include dry needling to reduce pain and inflammation, hands-on joint mobilizations and spinal manipulations, kinesiotaping to restore normal joint and muscle function, mechanical traction for spinal decompression, and massage and myofascial release techniques to improve tissue mobility and healing.

EDWARD FLAMAND
​PT, DPT, CERT. DN, CSCS

Dr. Flamand earned his physical therapy degree from Eastern Washington University in 2010 following a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Development – Exercise Science at Montana State University in 2006. Originally from Butte, Montana, Edward has traveled throughout the United States to provide therapy services on a contract basis. He has provided physical therapy services and gained experience in many clinical settings including inpatient rehabilitation, acute care hospital, outpatient orthopedics, and home health services. Edward now calls Wickenburg and Champion Physical Therapy home. His area of expertise focuses on outpatient orthopedics with emphasis on manual therapy. Edward believes in maintaining physical and recreational activity during rehabilitation and as part of a healthy lifestyle. He is certified in dry needling and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Edward has completed advanced training in Spinal Manipulative Therapy and in the use of kinesiology taping methods.

In his off time, Edward can be found enjoying time with his 2 dogs and exploring the waterways and trails of the western United States waterskiing, wake surfing, and mountain biking.

JANELL FLAMAND
​PT, DPT, CERT. DN

Born and raised in Olympia, WA, Janell earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Eastern Washington University in 2007 and continued on to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University in 2010. Janell started her physical therapy career as a traveling physical therapist, which allowed her to work and gain experience in multiple practice settings in 9 states as of 2017.
​
While traveling, she gained experience in skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehabilitation, hospital acute care, and outpatient clinics, finding her passion was in treating in the outpatient setting.
During a travel assignment in Wickenburg, she fell in love with the town and the community and now calls Wickenburg home. Janell is certified in dry needling and has special training in vestibular rehabilitation, spinal manipulation and kinesiotaping.

During her free time, she enjoys mountain biking, water skiing, and continuing to travel for both work and pleasure.

​OUR CHAMPION PHYSICAL THERAPY STAFF
Michaela Eckland PT, DPT, CERT. DN 

Pacific Northwest native from the small town of Montesano, WA. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Claremont McKenna College in 2014. After working as an exercise specialist for 2 years, Michaela continued on to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University in Goodyear, AZ in 2019. Michaela enjoys treating patients of all ages with a variety of orthopedic conditions, and has a special interest in pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation as well as pelvic floor rehabilitation and women’s health. Her passion for physical therapy stems from the desire to help others overcome challenges and injury in order to live a fuller life. She believes in fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere in which patients can heal and thrive.
 
Outside of the clinic, Michaela enjoys spending quality time with her son and husband, visiting with friends, cooking/baking, working out at the gym, and participating in outdoorsy activities including, but not limited to, walking, hiking, swimming, and paddle boarding.

Clay Mitchell PTA
Clay grew up in the wide open spaces of Wyoming. In 2018 he moved to Wickenburg and now calls it home. He recently graduated in 2023 here in Arizona from GateWay Community College, receiving an Associate of Applied Science degree in Physical Therapist Assisting with Highest Distinction. He gained clinical experience in various settings throughout his time in school and found his passion in outpatient orthopedics. Clay is looking forward to continuing to expand his knowledge base in the areas of Orthopedic and Neurological rehabilitation. 
 
During his free time Clay enjoys hiking, camping, golfing and spending time with friends and family.
